Tuesday we headed out for parts undecided! I had mentioned several things which Clem was not really interested in, and I finally said, just chart a path toward home, and we will play it by ear. We stopped at my now most hated campsite for the night, the Kittatiny Canoe place along the Delaware River! Not that it is so awful, just that it really isn’t intended for big rigs, and has a steep , rocking entrance on a steep downgraded road, and I feel like we stick out like sore thumbs there……which we do! Rocking and rolling in and out causes things to shift and fall, and I hate it! Made Clem promise we would not stop again…this being the third time! Good fortune this time, however, as it took us via a different highway exit, and we drove through the cute little town of Milford, PA. We parked the coach, unhooked the car ( which we usually don’t do there), and headed out to explore.
Note: do not visit on a Tuesday, or after 4, because things are closed! Odd day to close!

Really cute, quaint town, though, and home to Gifford Pinchot, head of the Forestry, and his home, Gray Towers stands high upon a ledge above town. We missed the tour, but drove up to see the estate and it was beautiful. Had dinner at what I termed the local Cracker Barrel, and it turned out to be pretty good! Especially the peanut butter pie! Although, I have been getting little exercise, and eating too many goodies, and am feeling like this must end!! The waitress grew up in the town, left, but has returned to teach school in what she says is an area that her generation are trying to bring back to its glory days. No industry, it relies on tourism from the Delaware River, and attracts folks from NY and NJ, some of whom have vacation homes in the area.
